Pascal Lutchmaya founded Uma Ilha Prime Hospitality Solutions in 2015 to better utilise his notable skillset, which he has gained over his many years of experience within the hospitality industry, for the benefit of the hospitality industry. He has worked at leading brands throughout the Indian Ocean, including Minor Hotels, Six Senses, The Residence by Cenizaro, InterContintental Hotels Group, Constance Hotels & Resorts and Heritage Resorts to name but a few. Commended often for his innovation and his ability to bring a team together, Pascal is truly a force to be reckoned with. It is this desire to reach new heights and successes that has given him an unparalleled talent within his field, showing expert knowledge and sharing valuable advice in regard to strategy, sales and business development.
Bruce Bowan - Hotel Management Consultant
Bruce is a hospitality expert with over 20 years of industry experience at turnaround management, project consultancy and asset management. He successfully executed hotel strategic planning, marketing and sales, financial and operations excellence. He has a vast Indian Ocean experience and was most recently General Manager of COMO Cocoa Island, Maldives and The Residence, Zanzibar.

What's in the name?

Our name is something very special to us: Uma Ilha comes from the Portuguese for ‘an island’. It was so chosen because some of the very first travellers into the Indian Ocean were in fact the Portuguese. This name, therefore, is a reflection of our own dedication to our profession and our industry, that of hospitality, the modern form of travel.
